French Lavender Fields

Think violet! Imagine it all around you. Bursting patches of purple reaching out to meet you and running away from you in beautiful, rolling lines as far as the eye can see. Excited yet? Don't forget about this fantastic smell, infiltrating your senses even when you don't breathe, and let's not forget about the sweet sound of thousands of bees, gently pollinating the fields, and that's before we get to the beautiful hilltop cities of Gordes and Roussillon. This is truly a photographer's paradise.

Learn from a passionate professional

Our photographers are both passionate and knowledgeable about photography and the area. We take you to all the good spots and let you enjoy the journey along the way. We capture as many sunrises and sunsets as weather and the small group will allow, and after shooting, we return to the hotel for a couple post-editing tutorials.

Group size & Options

Not everyone runs at the same pace, and our tours are built to accommodate everyone. We keep group sizes small, so everyone will have some one on one time with the pro. We also will offer different options for everyone. Perhaps someone wants to work on astrophotography late at night, maybe someone else really wants sunrises. We try to be as flexible as possible, so you don't feel like you have to do everything, but you can still get as most out of the experience as you want.

Tour Price $1,700/person

Join us for a single supplement for $400. A single supplement is one full day of activities meeting in the town we will be in. It does not include room or board, but does include any transport during the day after your arrival in the town. We can help arrange your transport to the town for an additional price

Day 1

We'll pick you up at the train station in Aix-en-Provence, and take you to your hotel in Valensole. From there, we'll go through one of the largest routes of Lavender fields in Provence along the Valensole Plateau. We'll spend the day enjoying the buzzing fields and catch a beautiful sunset over the fields.

Day 2

The second day we wake up early for a beautiful sunrise over the fields with the sunflowers. We'll then go back to the hotel during the day to do a post-processing session and get ready to go back out as it cools down.

Day 3

The third day is a more relaxing and quiet day. We wake up early for sunrise and morning song at Senanque Abbey. Afterwards, we head to photograph and walk around the prized hilltop town of Gordes. We then head back to the hotel, relax and do more post-processing techniques, and finish one last sunset in the fields.

Day 4

We check out of the hotel and take you back to Aix-en-Provence and say goodbye.

Additional Info

All of the hikes on the journey are relatively easy walks, with well groomed trails, hikes under 4 miles, and elevation gains of less than 1,000 ft at a time. Our guides are also aspirant mountain guides in the Alps (it's a thing) and can help pack photography materials when needed, but please let us know beforehand if you there is anything we should be aware of like a heart condition, etc.

Arrival

You will arrive in Aix-en-Provence at the train station, and we will pick you up and take you to Valensole.

Departure

After checkout from the hotel in Valensole, we'll take you back to Aix-en-Provence.

Accommodations

We will stay at a three or four star hotel in Valensole.

Meals

Meals will be provided for you and will consist of breakfast lunch and dinner. If you have any health concerns or diet restrictions please let us know beforehand, so we can accommodate you the best that we can.
