The Terraced Vineyards of Switzerland

When the terraced vineyards start to turn colors, it's hard to find a more picturesque location anywhere. Standing in the terraces, the earth seems to drop out from under your feet, revealing vast valleys or lakes below and surrounded by towering, snow-capped peaks. The terraced vineyards of Lavaux and Martigny are not to be missed. The tour also includes a stop at one of the most beautiful castles along Lac Leman - Chillon Castle..

Learn from a passionate professional

Our photographers are both passionate and knowledgeable about photography and the area. We take you to all the good spots and let you enjoy the journey along the way. We capture as many sunrises and sunsets as weather and the small group will allow, and after shooting, we return to the hotel for a couple post-editing tutorials.

Group size & Options

Not everyone runs at the same pace, and our tours are built to accommodate everyone. We keep group sizes small, so everyone will have some one on one time with the pro. We also will offer different options for everyone. Perhaps someone wants to work on astrophotography late at night, maybe someone else really wants sunrises. We try to be as flexible as possible, so you don't feel like you have to do everything, but you can still get as most out of the experience as you want.

Tour Price $1,700/person

Join us for a single supplement for $400. A single supplement is one full day of activities meeting in the town we will be in. It does not include room or board, but does include any transport during the day after your arrival in the town. We can help arrange your transport to the town for an additional price

Tour Dates

Nov 1-4, 2017

Day 1

The first day we meet you at the airport or train station in Geneva and take you to your hotel in Lavaux. You'll be amazed as we come over the hill from Lausanne and the cliff face just drops off before us. It's pretty usual to hear a few wow's and gasps with that first view. From here you'll get a spellbinding view over the lake and vineyards and the tall mountains in the background. We'll head out for a nice walk along the vineyards near sunset and get some beautiful sunset shots before returning home for dinner.

Day 2

The second day kicks off as we head back out for another nice morning walk and shoot along the terraces. The hills are steep here, but the path is extremely nice, and we can go at a slow pace. After that we return to the hotel and relax for awhile before lunch and a post-processing workshop. Then we head back out before sunset to head down to the beautiful city of Montreux and Chillon Castle for sunset.

Day 3

We wake up and head back to the vineyards for one more sunrise shoot, and then return and check out of our hotel. From there we move on to Martigny, tucked deep in the Alps, this beautiful Roman town is lined with vineyard after vineyard. We'll drop off our stuff at the hotel and get lunch before heading back out to the terraces for some more beautiful shots. We'll also visit the castle in the area, which is also lined with vineyards!

Day 4

We wake up and do one more sunrise shoot before returning and checking out at the hotel. From here, we drop you off at the train station and provide you with a ticket back to Geneva or Zurich, wherever you are headed next, and we say goodbye.

Additional Info

All of the hikes on the journey are relatively easy walks, with well groomed trails, hikes under 4 miles, and elevation gains of less than 1,000 ft at a time. Our guides are also aspirant mountain guides in the Alps (it's a thing) and can help pack photography materials when needed, but please let us know beforehand if you there is anything we should be aware of like a heart condition, etc.

We cannot provide you with a ticket in or outside of Switzerland, but please tell us which way you are going, and we will provide you with a ticket to the farthest city in that direction.

Arrival

You will arrive in Switzerland in either Geneva. From there, we will pick you up and take you to your hotel new Lausanne.

Departure

After checkout from the hotel in Martigny, we will take you to the train station and provide you with a ticket to Geneva or Zurich, wherever you are going next.

Accommodations

We will stay at three and four star hotels in Interlaken, Kandersteg, and Zermatt.

Meals

Meals will be provided for you and will consist of breakfast lunch and dinner. If you have any health concerns or diet restrictions please let us know beforehand, so we can accommodate you the best that we can.
